Amanda Oliveira Travessas

MSc. in Biology of the Continental Aquatic Environments Biology Program, 2019-present

My research interest is in the diet and resources partitioning among four Heron species (Bubulcus ibis, Egretta caerulea, Egretta thula, and Nycticorax nycticorax) in a breeding colony at the ‘Lagoa dos Patos’ estuary. My dissertation involves the identification and quantification of prey in pellets and regurgitates, as well as stable isotopes analysis. I am also experienced with the identification of prey in the diet of Barn Owl (Tyto furcata) in pellets from different environments (urban and rural) as an undergraduate student. I am also a member of the UNIPAMPA Bird Watchers Group.
